We are very excited to release the new album my room in the trees by the innocence mission. Songs include the cinematic opening "Rain," "North American Field Song," and "The Happy Mondays" – a strangely beautiful song about searching for connectedness and shared experiences. Recorded mostly live in the Peris' home, it is also a celebration of an everyday walk home from school, when "the clouds of Pennsylvania break apart.” “Luxuriously hushed and as moving as a Nick Drake record sung by Joni Mitchell, My Room is another remarkable gem.” – The Big Takeover

From Our friends at Portland's Willamette Week:
"Lovers’ last disc, I Am the West, was one of the best albums to come out of Portland in 2009—even if its release went under the radar for a lot of people. It marked a change in Lovers frontwoman/founder Carolyn Berk’s songwriting philosophy that took the band from being a singer-songwriter’s outlet to a full-on synth-driven pop group (with Kerby Ferris and Emily Kingan joining up along the way), and it did so masterfully.
Lovers’ next album (Dark Light) shouldn’t catch anyone by surprise, because we’re not going to let it. We’ll be premiering a few songs from the band’s forthcoming disc, due out on October 12 on Portland’s own Badman Recording Co." -Casey Jarman -WWeek.com
